Zakisha Godfrey is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing virtual care for adults ages 16–70. She specializes in the treatment of Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, and Opioid Use Disorder. Her approach centers on helping clients achieve clarity, balance, and relief through individualized, evidence-based treatment and compassionate support.
To maintain flexibility and fully personalized care without the restrictions of insurance, her practice is private-pay (cash only). However, for clients with insurance, a detailed Superbill is available upon request to support reimbursement from their insurer.
Because of the limitations of a virtual setting, Zakisha does not currently treat individuals with complex psychiatric or neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), or Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), as these often require more intensive care coordination.
In line with ethical and safe prescribing practices, she does not prescribe benzodiazepines (including Ativan, Xanax, Valium, or Klonopin) and follows all FDA guidelines when prescribing stimulant medications. Additionally, controlled substances are not prescribed to individuals who are currently receiving opioid-based pain management.
Zakisha is dedicated to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive space where adults can access high-quality care from the comfort and privacy of their homes. Her mission is to challenge stigma and narrow thinking around mental health. Through compassionate care, education, and advocacy, she empowers individuals to better understand their mental health challenges and seek help without shame. She strives to inspire change—one client, one community, and one voice at a time.
With years of experience across various settings, I am well-equipped to handle complex cases and provide comprehensive, tailored care.
My goal is to empower patients, helping them achieve mental wellness and improve their overall quality of life.

"Zakisha has been my rock since day one. She is the first professional that has actually listened to my concerns and took the time to find the right medication and care plan for me. She jumps through hoops for each and every one of her patients so that they get the proper care. She is honest, kind, smart, genuine, and has a very big heart as she cares a lot about me, and all of her other patients. I highly recommend her to anyone struggling with mental health issues of all kinds. She truly is one in a million!"
